PROCEDURES AND FEES

College Planning Services is dedicated to helping parents make the most important decision of their lives, sending their children to college. Our research over the past 25 years has shown most families' knowledge of college financing is limited or non-existent; to that end we clarify all the misconceptions and offer you a plan that will save you at least $10,000 per year, time and aggravation.
 
Step 1: NO obligation, phone consultation. Fee - $0
The purpose of this phone consultation is two fold. The first is for me to share with you the five most critical things you must do to increase your children's scholarship money. The second, with your permission, I will need to gather an educational profile on your children, your educational goals and the resources available to pay 4 years of your child's tuition expenses. At the end of our conversation I will give you an overview of your college financial options and recommendations.
 
Step 2: In home 90 minute consultation. Fee - $300
If it makes business sense to you and I feel I can save you money, time and aggravation, we will meet face to face. The purpose of this meeting is for me to present to you a customized plan based on the information you provided me during our phone conversation. The plan will include:
  • An analysis of your projected tuition costs for all children
  • A report, using the federal financial aid guidelines, detailing what the the college will expect you to pay yearly to send your children  to college
  • Recommendations, using the federal guidelines, on how to lower the government's projected number
  • A detailed explanation on the specific financial aid policies of the colleges you are interested in applying to
After this meeting you will have the outline of a customized plan for your family.
 
Step 3: Implement your customized plan. Fee - $400
After Step 2, if we both feel that I should be your outside college advisor, the real work begins. I will:
  • Help you design a college cash flow management plan
  • Offer you unlimited consultation to help clarify and implement your customized plan for all of your college bound children
  • Complete the complicated aid forms each year
  • Send to you on a regular basis our newsletter, The College Bound Train
  • Assist you in the process of appealing your initial financial aid package
  • Recommend the best student loans for your children
